The Sandstone Jali was built using intricately carved 6 inch blocks of Khandolite Sandstone and assembled at site.This Screen wall was used as a Space Divider between the Lobby and the open-to-sky central courtyard. Bult with 12 inch blocks of Khandolite stone carved with different motifs inspired by traditional jewellery in Odisha, this was assembled and finished at the building site. Selected works from Gond artists were made in MS Sheets with punched holes inspired from the patterns used by the Artists. The amazing play of light and shadow during different times of the day, made this work a dynamic piece of art that changed contours according to the sun.Voids created by punched holes can be seen clearly and is a constant reminder of the Art that inspired its creation.
